An Athletic therapy initial assessment will involve a comprehensive history, an orthopaedic assessment (range of motion, strength, biomechanics, and posture), and a rehabilitation program including exercise prescription to accomplish your goals.
After an assessment and finding the root cause of your pain, treatment sessions will take place. Treatments may involve manual therapy skills (gua sha, cupping, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations), soft tissue release, as well as therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, electrical muscular stimulation, interferential current).

Athletic therapists are best known for their on-field care of athletes. They are the first responders on the field when someone gets hurt and they deal most commonly with emergencies at sporting events such as concussion, fractures, and spinal injuries. They also perform prophylactic taping and post game rehab.
